The players really only get one week off at a time to go home


I doubt the coaches would be happy about them playing in some kind of summer league while they are off. They usually spend most of the summer in Blacksburg working out, so they play intrasquad games during "open gym". Last summer when they finally came back they had less time in Hahn (maybe due to having to disinfect it between sessions), so they played some games on a basketball court at a local church because a family member knew someone from the church who let them use it. I'm not sure if they had other people come for those games but in Hahn it is "the same 10 guys".
